Advanced Placement Program

The Advanced Placement (AP) Program is a program of credit by examinations for college-level studies pursued in secondary schools. The Advanced Placement courses are available to qualified academically-oriented students. Upon completion of an AP Course, a student is expected to take the nationally-administered examination in May. Many of the colleges that AP candidates have attended give credit and/or advanced standing to students whose AP Examination grades are considered acceptable.

Advanced Placement courses offered are described in the subject area sections. In order to be eligible for an AP course, students must successfully complete the specified prerequisite course(s) at the time of registration and submit a student responsibility form to the Main School Counseling Office.
