This course examines the modern historical events that have occurred in the course of this generation with a large emphasis on the events of September 11, 2001. Students will also explore such themes as terrorism and school violence as they relate to specific incidents that have occurred in the last several decades. Recent events are connected to historical precedents, with an emphasis on American events in relation to global issues. In addition, students will explore a variety of current events and current social issues.
