This course reinforces basic math skills as well as algebra skills through the study of topics such as (1) voting, (2) weighted voting systems, (3) fair division, (4) apportionment, (5) spiral growth in nature and (6) population growth. These topics highlight applicability, accessibility, modernity and aesthetics in mathematics. This is a stand-alone course. Students can take Discrete Math I or Discrete Math II or both Discrete Math I and Discrete Math II. Courses may be taken in any order.
