Specific topics include  (1) displaying, describing, and comparing different types of distributions, (2) creating statistical designs in order to collect data, (3) hypothesis testing, (4) Chi-Squared and T-tests, and (5) the interpretation and evaluation of the validity of statistical inference. The remainder of the course is devoted to seminar topics and preparation for the AP exam. Following the AP examination, the remainder of the course is devoted to seminar topics and preparation for the final project. Students may be awarded either college credit or advanced placement depending on the individual college involved and the scores obtained.  This course is the equivalent of the first semester of college level statistics.
