Prerequisite: Algebra IA Teacher Recommendation

This course is intended to follow Algebra IA. Together, Algebra IA and Algebra IB cover the complete Algebra I curriculum. This course continues to develop the algebraic thinking skills necessary for you to succeed in advanced mathematics courses. With an emphasis on the concepts of presentation and components of functions, you will further develop problem solving strategies throughout the course. Units of study are aligned to the Connecticut Standards and include (1) systems of linear equations, (2) systems of linear inequalities (3) probability and statistics (4) rational exponents, (5) operations with polynomials, and (6) factoring polynomials (7) graphing quadratic equations and (8) solving quadratic equations.
