Literature course

This course introduces and employs feminist critical theory to the reading, analysis, and critique of works by female authors or literary works featuring female protagonists. Students will explore feminist themes, the development of female characters, and common symbols as a basis for comparison in works by both women and men. There is also an opportunity to re-examine classic texts critically with a feminist approach to gain new understandings and perspectives. Students will practice information literacy by generating writing focused on interpretation of literature and accessing criticism about the works and in support of their own ideas.
