CERAMICS I

In Ceramics I, students will explore clay as an expressive art material. A variety of hand building, wheel throwing, and glazing techniques will be introduced and utilized in creating three dimensional art work. Emphasis will be placed on the design elements of form, line, shape, texture, and color. Functional as well as sculptural applications will be explored. Introduction to traditional and historical ceramic arts will be incorporated into the lab experiences.
