Mr. Goguen







Joseph Goguen began teaching at Northbridge Middle School in 2018. His responsibilities include 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Band, Grades 5-8 General Music classes, co-directing the NMS Jazz Band, and assisting the Northbridge Marching Rams.

Mr. Goguen graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Music Education and Bachelors Degree in Trumpet Performance. At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he studied Trumpet with Eric Berlin. Mr. Goguen played Trumpet in the Symphony Band, under the direction of Dr. James Patrick Miller, the Symphony Orchestra, and the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Matthew Westgate. He also received a number of recognitions during his time at the University, including International Trumpet Guild Scholarships, a Semi-Finalist at the National Trumpet Competition, the Theodore Presser Award, and the MMEA Promising Music Educator Award.

Outside of school Mr. Goguen can be found performing in The Valley Winds, conducting the Petersham Brass Band, or spending time with his family and dogs, Mila and Milo!
