The Curtain rises on the North Penn High School Theatre & Thespians 2024-2025 Season.

Believed to be written in 1599, the Company reimages Shakespeare’s most musical comedy by setting it outside Philadelphia in the spring of 1968. Simon and Garfunkel are on the radio, hair is long, women are asking for places “at the table”, and romance is in the air -- all of which sounds like Shakespeare’s time except for Simon and Garfunkel on the radio ( . . . except that Paul Simon’s music was influenced by the publication of traditional British Ballads, from you, guessed it, Shakespeare’s time! But, no radio for Will!)

As You Like It is a timeless story of the many aspects of love and relationships. It is also about the passage of time and how to use time wisely to find our true, authentic selves in harmony with others. The play is funny and yearning, rollicking and silly, with “golden oldies” added performed by members of the Company, connecting us to Shakespeare’s wise musings about the humanity we share.
