Senior Exit Project Fundraising Guidelines
- First and foremost, be creative!
- Any fundraisers held on school grounds must be approved by the principal.
- Don’t make the fundraising complicated.
- Be sure to keep an accurate account of the money you have raised. It is advised that you have an adult assist you with this.
- Be sure you don’t spend more money on setting up the fundraiser than you expect to collect.
- Do not overexpose any students or staff to fundraising by expecting them to be the sole donors.
- If you are working with a non-profit organization as part of your fundraiser, you must follow all of their established guidelines.
- **You may not use the Northwood School District or Northwood High School name for your fundraiser unless the funds are going to benefit the District. If that is the case, approval for use of the name must be given by the principal. For example – you would not be allowed to give the following sales pitch “Northwood High School is raising money for the American Cancer Society”. You may identify yourself as a Northwood High School student but you must be very clear that you are representing yourself – not the school.

If you are planning an event:

- A minimum of two weeks prior to your activity, return the completed “Facility Use Request” that you will receive when you book the date. On this request your parent(s) will have to sign off as responsible party. Proof of insurance is waived if this event is not co-sponsored by another agency.
- If you are using the school building outside the normal school hours you must have at least one school district employee who will act as the event supervisor.
- If your project includes the general public, you may need to have additional adult supervision depending on the number of people you expect to attend the event.
- If you require special equipment to host your event please be aware that it is your responsibility to secure that equipment. You will not be allowed to use school equipment without the permission and supervision of a teacher. (Only tables and chairs are provided.)
