We'll keep this section updated with common questions we hear in the gym and anything else we think you might find helpful. (If you see this: '🔗', that means you can click a link to see more details.)
General Gym Info
We are not your average gym.  We prioritize consistency, injury prevention, and progress over gimmicks. Our coaching style is member-focused, beginner-friendly, and built on community. We want to have fun and push as hard as we can on a regular basis. But we also know that you don't need to crush your soul every day to make progress.
Use the PushPress 'Members' App on your phone to reserve your spot. If you have issues, just ask a coach.
Download the app here:
Apple App Store: Download the PushPress Members App here. 🔗

Please use the iPad/kiosk at the gym to officially 'check in' once you arrive. (by the door of the main room)

Texts (big announcements, weather alerts)
PLEASE Save this number in your phone so you know it's us when you get a text from our system. We promise to keep texts to less than once per week unless we have a major announcement or emergency-type alert.
(512) 881-6796
Texting is really the only way we can keep you aware of things that come up, and if you 'STOP' our texts, we are not able to reach out and ask you why you stopped them. If it was an accident and you'd like to continue receiving our texts again, you can text "START" to that same number.
Email: We do send a weekly email but realize that this is not always the best way to reach you. Keep an eye on our texts!
Cancellation Policy
We simply ask that you give us a 30-day written (digital is fine) notice before cancellation. (Text, email, etc.) Standard policy - nothing sneaky, and it's how we (and almost every other gym) operate. Â
We feel that if we are providing a good service, you will want to stay. We care, and are not just in this for the money (this is a passion project). We do not do contracts or do any kind of legal BS like you've probably seen at "GloboGyms". We will never send an accountt to 'collections'. Just be a decent person and let us know if you need to cancel. We won't be offended if you need to leave.
Yes, you can pause for up to 3 months (typically this is if you need to go on a long vaca, work trip, or pursue another fitness idea for a bit).
Can I just show up for class even if I haven't registered in the app?
Yep. It's all good. Once you get the hang of it you can register before class and sign in, but for now, don't worry about it. You just need to focus on learning new stuff and figuring out if you like us or not.
Do you charge any fees if I 'late cancel' or 'no-show'?
Nope. That's the kinda crap that chain gyms do because they don't really care.Â
How big are class sizes?
It really depends. Mon, Wed, Fri are busier days. Tuesdays and Thursdays can be kinda slow. Currently our biggest classes are the Noon class, the 4:30, and the 6 pm. It changes with the seasons. Ask a coach for more info if class sizes is important to you.
If you're looking for more personal attention, the morning classes and the 7 PM are a little smaller on most days.
Please make sure you reserve your class in advance to make sure you get your spot and to help us with keeping things safe and organized.
🔹 Workout clothes
🔹 Water bottle
🔹 Good vibes
We got you! Coaches will adjust workouts based on your needs - just let us know about injuries and restrictions as soon as you can so we can adjust for you.
If you realize you need additional help during class, please speak up and ASK. Do not be shy or stay quiet. We are here to help.
Do I need any special gear or special shoes?
No. However, 'trainers' (flatter, 'low-rise' shoes) are better for these classes because they provide more support while lifting.
Some members even like to lift in "Chucks"(Converse Chuck Taylors.), or barefoot.
As you learn more skills and get some reps in, you might start to see the benefits of investing in certain pieces of gear:
Wrist Wraps, Knee Sleeves, Grips for you hands, Weightlifting Belt, Thumb Tape, etc.
Once you become a member, we share a link to the compiled list of gear that our coaches prefer for shoes, belts, tape, etc.Â
We have open gym any time there are classes scheduled, and also on Sunday.
Open Gym is included in our unlimited membership
Or you can add it to other memberships for 20$. It’s great for skill work, strength progressions, or catching up on a missed workout.
✅ Showers
✅ Cold Plunge 🔗
✅ Fully equipped strength & conditioning space and Open Gym space.
Normatech Compression Boots available if requested in advance.
Yes. We provide towels for showers, the cold plunge, and wiping down equipment.
We typically stock recovery and energy drink offerings from FitAid, LMNT, NOCCO, and others. Please let us know if you have other suggestions on drinks we can offer in the gym.Â
We also have Bearded Brothers Bars available if you need a quick snack.

Yes! We organize a bunch of things to help keep everybody motivated and social:
Monthly community events like hikes, game nights, and outings
At least one In-House Competitions per year.
At least one Olympic Weightlifting meet per year
2 Fitness Competitions per year:
Fall:Â "North Austin Strong Fall Brawl"
Spring: "North Austin Strong Annual Spring Competition": Name TBD.
We raise money to help cover travel costs for athletes and coaches competing at regional events. Ask a coach for details or check out our Instagram for updates.
Coaches and staff maintain the gym, but members should always wipe down equipment after use. Â
We are investigating the idea of purchasing a 'zamboni-like' floor cleaner and emplying a cleaning staff to help us maintain a fresh space.
Can I bring my kids to the gym?
Of course! We have a front room with a TV, couch, and table for them to stay safe and have a place to keep busy. Let us know if you need help setting up the TV, etc.
We don't mind if your little ones are out in the main room, BUTTTT..... they need to stay OFF of the main floor when athletes are working out. If there are barbells, machines, dumbbells, etc on the floor, the kids shouldn't be. We want them to have a good time and we want them to see you as an example, and to be proud of you working hard, but we do need to keep them safe and make sure we aren't affecting other members' workouts.
We currently have space heaters that may be used under coach supervision. They must be unplugged (NOT JUST TURNED OFF) when not actively monitored - this is a fire safety issue.
We do participate in the Open. We do the workouts and help athletes who want to train more competitively.
Can I volunteer?
YES! We love to find ways that you can give back. We always need help at our competitions (Fall Brawl, and our spring comp)
We do have ways of volunteering around the gym and we believe that giving or doing for others can be a great way to improve your mental and social health. Keep an eye out for requests from our team, and for our regular 'Spring Cleaning' events.Â
We also plan on partnering with a local mental or social health organization in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled for volunteering options related to that!
