6. Stained Glass Chalk Drawing

This activity works on hand and arm strength, along with some fine motor and visual planning skills. You will need some chalk, tape (I used painters tape), and an old towel or rag. I completed this activity on my driveway, but can also be done on a cement or brick wall. We taped a random design and then colored in each empty spot with chalk. It is important to press very hard to really make it bright. I then used an old towel to lightly dust the chalk in order to even out the color into the small crevices in the cement and to ensure that the chalk color is up close to the tape lines. We then carefully pulled up the tape when we were satisfied with the colors. This can be a fun activity for the whole family to complete together.

7. Animal Rescue

This is a simple, yet fun and effective, way to strengthen the tiny muscles inside our hands that we need for writing and cutting activities! For this activity you will need small plastic animals and rubber bands or hair ties. To prep this activity, wrap the animals up in the bands and to complete this activity have your child untangle the bands and rescue the animals!
