Dedicated Advocacy & Voice

BIG works for you. We are made up of professionals who share your interests, concerns, and experiences. We are an Advocate that speaks out on issues affecting the government workplace. We have testified before Congress on legislation reforming the EEO process, combating racial discrimination in government, and advocating for affirmative employment. We speak out on critical issues like the disparate rate of discharge of African Americans from federal service and assaults against affirmative action.

Employee Support & Resources

If you face a challenge on the job, your BIG chapter is an excellent resource for help and counseling. Many BIG members have dealt with similar problems and can suggest effective strategies. We also maintain a list of attorneys experienced in handling employment-related issues that our members often encounter. 

Professional Development

BIG is a professional development organization. Every year, we sponsor the National Training Institute (NTI), bringing together national leaders and experts. The NTI is a unique training experience that provides exposure to issues and skills often overlooked in the day-to-day workplace, directly supporting your individual development plan (IDP).

Your BIG chapter is a strong force in the community. We help fight challenges like illiteracy and promote civic engagement through initiatives like voter registration.
