Scholarship & Grants

Dr. Stepheny Finnie chairs the Scholarship & Grants Committee, which shall be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the scholarships and grants program. 

This committee shall award annual scholarships to individuals based on established guidelines. This committee or designated subcommittee shall award grants to individuals or groups based upon established guidelines with the advice and consent of the Executive Committee. 

Barbara Tobe Scholarship Program

NOAA and NOAA BIG supports equal employment opportunity and diversity in the workforce.  It actively seeks and recruits African Americans for current and future employment.  NOAA BIG established the Barbara Tobe Scholarship, which awards $1,000 in scholarships each year to two graduating seniors from local area high schools. The primary purpose of the scholarships is to assist exceptional African American students with college expenses and to introduce them to NOAA and future career possibilities.
