It is with deep sorrow that NOAA BIG announces the passing of Mrs. Crystal J. Pratt. Crystal gained her wings on May 7, 2022, after a brief illness. NOAA BIG members are mourning the loss of our friend and former coworker, who made an impression on everyone she met.
Crystal served as NOAA BIG 2nd Vice President (2015-16), Recording Secretary (2014-15), Delegate to the National Assembly (2015 & 2017), Correspondence Secretary (2017), and Regional Representative (2012-13). Additionally, Crystal chaired the Membership Committee, and volunteered her time on numerous other committees and chapter events, e.g. NOAA BIG Annual Black History Month Trivia Game, Barbara Tobe Scholarship Program, STEM Student Competition, Regional Gala, the Thanksgiving Food and Christmas Toy Drives, and NOAA BIG's Annual Crab Feast Fundraiser.
Crystal will remain in our hearts forever.

Ms. Othel Y. Freeman served as President of the NOAA Chapter, Blacks In Government from 2008 - 2010. She served as NOAA BIG Chapter Vice President, from 2005 thru 2006 and Chapter President, from 2008 thru 2009. She served in many capacities as Regional Representative, Primary Delegate, and NOAA Sustainable Fisheries Employees Advisory Board, Fisheries Equal Employment Opportunity Board, and Office of Sustainable Fisheries Employee Advisory Board. In addition, she was a LifeTime and Gold Plus member of NOAA BIG.

Stewart worked for NOAA, Office of Oceanic Atmospheric Research, Climate Program Office for 25 years before his retirement in March 2021. He joined the NOAA Chapter, BIG in 2008 and later became a dedicated lifetime member.
Stewart supported and attended NOAA BIG’s Chapter events and was well known for his infectious laugh, positive energy, and the fun he brought to our workplace.
He had a knack for lifting spirits and making even the toughest days a little brighter.
Stewart will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Tillman Peck
Mr. Peck was a dedicated lifetime member of the NOAA Chapter of Region XI. He has been an impactful member of BIG for many years, serving as a chapter delegate and NTI attendee. He was truly dedicated to BIG and the NOAA Chapter.
Mr. Peck worked for NOAA with 59 years of service and was an alumnus of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), John Hopkins, and American University.
He will be greatly missed!
