Happy New Year, Everyone!

As we ring in this new year, we will do so by celebrating our strengths and setting goals for the coming months.

In 2026, we will continue to learn exciting new things in our Kindergarten classroom. Now that we can spell and print our first name, we will focus on spelling and printing our last name.  Many of you are doing this already, keep up the great work! Our alphabet adventures will continue as we learn the letters Oo, Dd, Cc/Kk, Uu, Gg, Bb, and Ee. We will practice printing these letters, identifying them by finding objects around us, making their sounds, and combining the letters we’ve learned to make words. We will also continue our writing activities. Always sound out your words when writing at home.

Our Math explorations will continue as we will focus on making combinations of numbers to 9 and printing number sentences (ie. 4 + 5 = 9). We will further explore measurement; comparing two objects to determine which is taller, longer, heavier, or holds more.

WHITE will be our special colour of the month. Hopefully we will have lots of white fluffy snow so that we can play and learn outside. Remember to always wear hats, waterproof mittens, and snow pants when playing outdoors.
