February will be full of excitement and celebration! 

Will the Groundhog see its shadow? We will survey our classmates, make a tally of our predictions, and graph the results. 

On Valentine's Day, as we honour the children at the Janeway, we will celebrate friendship and continue learning ways to be good friends.  We will also celebrate the 100th Day of School this month. We are so excited!!

PINK is our special colour this month.  On February 25th, we will make the Pink Shirt Promise as we wear our pink shirts to celebrate diversity and promote friendship, kindness, and acceptance; a promise we make in our classroom each day.

Our alphabet adventures continue as we learn the letters Ss, Zz, Kk, and Hh. As we explore each letter, we will continue to build our decoding and encoding skills. We will focus on naming each one, printing each letter, learning its sound and identifying it by finding objects around us. We will continue to learn new heart words and we will also continue our writing activities. Always sound out your words when writing at home.

Our Math explorations continue as we focus on making combinations of numbers to 10 and printing number sentences (ie.  6 + 4 = 10).
