Kindergarten is a time of new beginnings, making friends, and learning lots of new things each day. Through a play-based curriculum, our days and weeks will be filled with many wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing. We will learn about letters and sounds, and we will do lots of writing activities.  We will learn about numbers, and build on important Math concepts like sorting, counting, graphing, classifying, patterning and measuring. Just like our friends in the older grades, we will be busy learning things in Science, Social Studies, Health, Religion, Art, Physical Education, and Music. 

We are always proud of the work we create and are excited to share our new skills.  If you follow me on BlueSky @mrsloder.bsky.social, you will see pictures of what's happening in our classroom - once I have everyone's media consent.  You may also visit the feed by checking the BlueSky tab of this webpage.  Please be sure to leave a comment from time to time, as we are so excited to see comments from our loved ones.

I promise I will do my best to create a safe and caring classroom for your child to learn and grow.  I promise you I will do my best to ensure they feel special and loved while in my care.  YOUR children are MY children.  I promise you every day your child will learn something new.  ​​Some days they will bring it home in their hands.  Some days they will bring it home in their heads, ​​and some days they will bring it home in their hearts.  

I firmly believe that open communication is the foundation to a good parent-teacher relationship and is necessary for maximum school success.  Please check your email on Sunday evenings for important reminders, as I will send a weekly email as part of our communication.  Also, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
