Garbage
This is a family favourite! It’s great for Kindergarten in that it helps the children sequence in numerical order, reviews the concept of a ten frame, etc. You can play an easy version (one round) or a more challenging version (several rounds of elimination).
Make Ten
Review concept: Jack Hartman Number Pairs Song and Jack Hartmann Number Bond Song
The ability to make a ten out of numbers is a math skill that will help kids with addition and subtraction. Set out cards and have kids combine them to make as many tens as they can. Kids can use the graphics on the cards to help them check to see if they are correct. (ie. 6+4=10, 3+7=10).
Want a challenge? Use more than 2 cards
(ie. 2+5+3=10)

Patterns
Use the different suits, colours, or face cards to create math patterns. AB, ABC, AABB, and ABAB are common math patterns they could identify and extend/complete.
For example, an AB pattern might be:
red black red black red black red black
2 5 2 5 2 5 2 5
To be a true pattern, the core (ie. red black or 2 5) must repeat at least three times.
