Kindergarten Writing Self-Assessment

As students complete their work, we refer them to a scoring guide (called a rubric) to determine how many 'stars' their work has earned. They use the rubric to determine what they can do to improve their work.  This gives a student a visual image of what '4 STAR' work looks like and allows the student to determine the quality of their own work.  It also gives them a model of what their 'best' work should look like.  Attached is the model we refer to in class. Please encourage use of this model during homework, as well.

*Take note of letter formation, neatness of printing, proper use of upper and lowercase letters, detail of drawing, use of colour, etc.

Remember: DETAILS!  DETAILS!!  DETAILS!!!
