The current site is still in its infancy. The features have yet to be tested outside of the designers’ immediate circle. Beta-testing will be required in order to ascertain whether or not the site truly responds to French second language educators’ needs. Some elements, such as the rating system, may prove to be superfluous as educators are unlikely to nominate resources they dislike, for example. The site could form part of a study testing the effectiveness of such a solution among in-service educators.
A successful solution for French second language educators could provide a useful template for educators in other underserved languages. Other languages products might be added to the site and a new filter added. Another possibility would be to create mirror sites that narrow down tools and discussions by language.
The ERAIC framework developed by the group could also prove a useful tool for guiding resource creation by developers and for evaluating resources by consumers in language education. Research into the applicability of this framework may be warranted.
