Theressa François has taught at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels. She has primarily taught Manitoba’s French immersion programme, but she has also worked as a multimedia design and programming educator at a francophone technical college. An experienced graphic designer, web developer, and client-side programmer, Theressa is currently focussed on using technologies to enhance opportunities for authentic, meaningful, inquiry-based second-language learning. She has long been frustrated by the hurdles that non-ELA second-language educators face when attempting to identify and to access digital learning resources.
Matthew Ledwell has taught grade 4-10 Core French and grade 9-12 English Language Arts. He taught in British Columbia for two years, and then moved home to Newfoundland for a teaching position. He has taught in Middle Arm, Glovertown, News-Wes-Valley, and now, Torbay. This is his fourth year teaching junior high Core French classes at the high school there. He also taught the grade 6 Intensive Core French (ICF) class at the elementary school there the year prior to that. Matthew enjoys using technology in the classroom as formative assessment tools and values the opportunities for choice and differentiation that it presents for students and teachers. He is always interested in learning about new ways to engage and reach students in the classroom.
