For MAT MGE, you can apply for degree finalization once you are nearing the end of your program and have taken an elective course. You will not get your degree until you have taken the elective course.
You can ask your Academic Advisor about elective offerings.
To apply for degree finalization click here: https://nl.edu/form-repository/degree-finalization-form/
*This shows how the elective is marked in DegreeWorks.
Note: SPE 501 is not the only elective offered, ask your Academic Advisor for the full list!
The MAT MGE program is designed for students to obtain licensure by earning their PEL.
Without taking an elective course, you will have the PEL after student teaching, but not a Master's degree. You can only participate in Commencement if you have taken all requirements for the Master's degree.
You can check your degree plan in DegreeWorks to see if an elective has been fulfilled.
