The Commonwealth of Kentucky has several agencies that can support adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, including the:
Department for Aging and Independent Living - support the guardianship and supported living programs
Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities - support the waiver programs
Department for Medicaid Services - oversee the Michelle P. Waiver and Supports for Community Living Waivers.
Some adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities will require lifelong support in making decisions about their health, safety, and activities of daily living. This resource includes information about each option as well as state agencies and groups who support adults and families in the decision-making process.
