For many students with disabilities, the success of this transition from school to adult life depends on teamwork and collaboration between the schools and community resources. As one such resource, the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation at the KCC works closely with the Kentucky Department of Education to assist eligible students with disabilities to identify, plan for, and achieve their vocational goals.
The Carl D. Perkins Center offers customers different programs to meet their individual vocational rehabilitation goals. Some of the programs focus on learning and mastering specific job skills as well as assisting and developing independent living skills.
Currently there are 9 different career tracks offered at the Perkins center. Each program varies in length for completion. The center can also complete a vocational evaluation and/or work adjustment program before enrolling into their selected vocational program.
