On Tuesday, August 18, Wind Ensemble musicians will participate in instrument-specific masterclasses with professional musicians on their instrument from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Students received their All-District / All-Region audition etudes on August 14 and this Bootcamp is an opportunity to learn how to practice & prepare for a successful audition experience. Students should stay after school and help set up for the event. Pizza will be served once set-up is complete. Door 1 will open at 5:45pm for those who need to leave and return, and each room will begin promptly at 6:00pm.

NonVarsity Band students who desire to participate in the All-District audition process must attend as well. To be clear, attendance is not required for Symphonic Band or Concert Band students unless they wish to participate in the All-District audition process.

Super Saturday is a Fine Arts Department event where families come to take care of all kinds of Band/Choir/Orchestra business on one day at the same time. You might think of it as a one-stop-shop to take care of all the procedural items that could otherwise stretch out across weeks. The biggest mission of the day is to fit our advanced ensemble musicians with their Concert Black Performance Attire. While students are being fitted with concert attire, parents can take care of filling out forms, signing travel permission waivers, paying course fees, and ordering items their student should already have but do not.

Who should attend? All 7th & 8th grade Concert Band, Symphonic Band, & Wind Ensemble musicians and a parent. BEGINNERS DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND SUPER SATURDAY.  Each student must be accompanied by an adult who can sign contractual agreements. Please do not just drop your child off, or wait out in the car.

When should we arrive? To help minimize crowding, we would like to phase arrivals as follows:

9am - Wind Ensemble

10am - Symphonic Band

11am - Concert Band

If you cannot attend during your designated time slot, you may come earlier or later; just know that there may be additional wait time if too many people arrive all at the same time.

Will I need my checkbook? All fees can be paid ahead of time through SchoolCash, which will also be available at Super Saturday. If you prefer to pay via check or cash, there will be systems in place for you to do so, but NISD's SchoolCash online payment system is your most reliable option.

Join us in rallying for our 8th grade Worthington Tiger football teams as they take on the Wilson Wildcats at Northwest ISD stadium on Tuesday, September 23. 7th & 8th grade Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble members will play pep band music in the stands at this game. The sixth annual NISD Band Showcase, sponsored by Bell's Music Shop, will begin at 7:00pm in the Northwest ISD Texan Stadium on Monday, September 28. Marching Bands from all three comprehensive high schools and all eight middle schools will perform, and the event will culminate with a combined performance by ALL of the high school & middle school band members on the field together.

On Monday, October 12, Wind Ensemble musicians will participate in instrument-specific masterclasses with professional musicians on their instrument from 5:00 - 7:30 PM. Unlike the Audition Etude Boot Camp that took place back in August, clinicians will not be here to "teach" the etudes; students received their etudes on August 14 and have been working on them since then. This Masterclass event is an opportunity for our professional clinicians to coach our musicians through peak performance practices that they can utilize to ensure a successful audition experience. Students will have the day off from school; while efforts were made to find a date that didn't coincide with a student holiday, all other dates are already booked with concerts &/or athletic events. Door 1 will open at 4:40pm and each room will begin promptly at 5:00pm.
