On Thursday, October 8, all Concert Band, Symphonic Band, & Wind Ensemble 8th graders get to participate in the fun and excitement of the High School Band Friday Night Lights experience in Texas! (yes, we know it's a Thursday game) We will meet at the NISD Stadium where we will play in the stands with the Eaton H.S. Band and will get to see an amazing Halftime show featuring the Keller Central H.S. and Eaton H.S. Marching Bands! Participating students should wear their BLACK v-neck Worthington Tiger Band jersey, blue jeans, and closed-toe shoes. They will need their instrument, water, flip folder, and small copies of their pep band music (organized inside the pages of their flip folder). Students will be dismissed to a parent AFTER the halftime show.

On Monday, October 12, Wind Ensemble musicians will participate in instrument-specific masterclasses with professional musicians on their instrument from 5:00 - 7:30 PM. Unlike the Audition Etude Boot Camp that took place back in August, clinicians will not be here to "teach" the etudes; students received their etudes on August 14 and have been working on them since then. This Masterclass event is an opportunity for our professional clinicians to coach our musicians through peak performance practices that they can utilize to ensure a successful audition experience. Students will have the day off from school; while efforts were made to find a date that didn't coincide with a student holiday, all other dates are already booked with concerts &/or athletic events. Door 1 will open at 4:40pm and each room will begin promptly at 5:00pm.
