WEEKLY SECTIONALS

Sectional Rehearsals provide an opportunity each week to address the specific needs of each instrument family outside of the full ensemble rehearsal setting. Every Symphonic Band, & Wind Ensemble student attends one weekly sectional. Most sectionals take place either before school or after school, while a select few will happen during Band class depending on Director availability. Percussion sectionals are directed by Mr. Vogt or Mr. Rushin. These schedules are set by the students themselves after figuring out which student-musician-athletes have the greatest occurrence of conflicts on certain days. We make every effort to avoid conflicts, and since most athletic teams practice 4 or 5 days per week, student-athletes are permitted to miss one team practice per week in order to attend their weekly Band sectional. Students will never be asked to miss a game / meet / tournament in favor of a rehearsal. Student attendance at and participation in weekly sectionals is required & graded. Alternative assignments will not be provided for unexcused absences.

For before-school sectionals, Door 1 will be open from 7:15 - 7:25 AM. Students who arrive after 7:25 will need to wait until a member of the front office staff is available to respond to the doorbell and buzz them in.

For after-school sectionals, Directors wait on the front porch until the last student is picked up, so please plan to pick up your student by 5:35 PM, and Email the appropriate director if you fear you might be late. Thank You!
