We are looking for young people to join our Youth Forum
The Youth Forum is on a mission to connect with young individuals aged 14-24 who have experienced the healthcare system first-hand, whether through a hospital visit for an appointment, a procedure, or a prolonged stay. Moreover, we understand the unique perspective brought by those who have supported a sibling through their hospital journey. Your insight is invaluable to us!
If you fall into either of these categories, we invite you to join our community. Your experiences can help shape a more understanding and supportive healthcare environment for all young people. Share your story, make your voice heard, and be a part of something truly impactful.
We strongly believe in giving young individuals a platform in our hospital. Young people bring innovation, creativity, and inspiration, which is why we aim to ensure their voices are valued through the Great North Youth Forum. The Youth Forum will actively participate in various hospital projects, striving to effect positive change while offering a safe and enjoyable space for young individuals to enhance their confidence.
We invite individuals of all abilities to join us, provided you are between 14 and 24 years old and have had a hospital experience, whether it was for an appointment, a procedure, or a longer stay. The Youth Forum also welcomes siblings of patients.
The Great North Youth Forum offers a multitude of opportunities for young individuals to get involved and make a difference within the hospital community. Some of the key aspects and benefits of joining the forum include:
Voice and Representation: Members of the forum have the chance to voice their opinions, ideas, and concerns regarding hospital services and experiences. Their input is highly valued and can directly influence decision-making processes within the hospital.
Skill Development: Participation in the Youth Forum provides young individuals with the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, including communication, teamwork, leadership, and project management. These skills are not only valuable within the hospital setting but also in various aspects of their personal and professional lives.
Networking and Support: Forum members have the chance to connect with peers who have had similar hospital experiences, fostering a sense of community and support. This network can be invaluable in providing encouragement, advice, and friendship.
Personal Growth: Being part of the Youth Forum offers young individuals the chance to grow personally and gain confidence in expressing themselves and taking on new challenges. The forum provides a safe and inclusive environment for members to explore their potential and expand their horizons.
If you are a young individual between the ages of 14 and 24 who has had a hospital experience, whether as a patient or a sibling of a patient, we encourage you to consider joining the Great North Youth Forum. Your unique perspective and contributions can truly make a difference in shaping the future of healthcare for young people.
