While our primary role is to enable and support the delivery of studies through the research pathway, we also undertake work to continually improve the pathway itself.
We involve patients and the public in our work, and support researchers and research delivery staff to involve them in the design and delivery of studies.
We undertake improvement and innovation initiatives in order to continually improve what we do and how we do it.
We work with researchers and research delivery staff to identify ways in which technology could be used to deliver activities differently.
We engage with the wider health and care system to ensure research is supported and enabled locally.
We utilise the vast knowledge and expertise of our people across the CRN to identify the future trends and challenges we need to address together and the ways in which this might be achieved.
We also work collectively to improve research itself, and increase the amount of research being delivered in the NHS:
We market the NHS to researchers around the world and promote the value the CRN adds throughout the research process.
We lead, enable and engage with key professional groups, such as research nurses, midwives and allied health professionals, to increase their visibility and influence in the wider health system.
We bring leading clinical professionals and academics together to drive research and innovation in our 30 clinical specialty groups.
We develop the leadership skills of our research delivery workforce to enable them to lead and influence the clinical research agenda in front line delivery organisations.
