ATTITUDES-W study CPMS 64182 IRAS 347973
The ATTITUDES-W study (Investigating attitudes to weight management in gynaecology patients) is a mixed-methods project sponsored by the University of Manchester.
For the questionnaire component, we are inviting two groups of participants:
Healthcare professionals working in gynaecology departments across the UK.
Women aged 18 or over who have attended an appointment in a gynaecology department.
The questionnaire will explore healthcare professionals’ training and confidence in weight management counselling, and women’s experiences of weight stigma and discussions about weight in gynaecology settings. This part of the study will generate quantitative and qualitative data to understand barriers and opportunities for weight management conversations in gynaecology.
Requirements: Sites will be asked to support the study by displaying posters in waiting rooms and, if possible, sharing information about the study via their local social media or patient networks. There is no requirement for sites to recruit participants directly, as participants will self-refer into the study by scanning a QR code or using a study web link.
