Research Site Initiative Scheme
The Research Site Initiative Scheme exists to provide material support for practices that engage in research with the CRN, with support varying according to the levels of involvement. Further details of the requirements and benefits of RSI membership are available here.
What can you gain?
Support and training, through a local team of GP champion, research nurse and facilitator.
Information on available research studies
Links to enable research ideas to be passed on to local research teams.
Information regarding practice research activity for appraisals or CQC visits via a regular report
Payment Scheme
Base payment of £800 if agreed criteria is met, plus a study payment based on the amount of practice involvement:
Participant Identification Centre (PIC) study- £150
Level 1 study- minimal practice involvement - £450
Level 2 study – maximum practice involvement - £800

Applications are to be made on the West Midlands CRN Primary Care Website with the following information completed:
PCN name that practices are affiliated to
All practice names within PCN
ODS codes for all practices
List of RSI participating practices within the PCN
Clear information on how you intend to engage the research naïve sites
