ICS Engagement Learning Event
The ICS Learning event was held on the 24th of January 2024. The aim of the event was to share knowledge and increase understanding of the challenges Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) face and how engaging in research is integral to addressing some of these challenges, such as reducing health inequalities and improving service delivery.
Additionally, guest speakers from the NHS Confederation ICS Network, and NHS England provided perspectives on optimising research benefits within ICSs.
Our post event resources are currently available on a dedicated event website. You can access the event video recordings and slides to gain insights into the collaborative efforts of Clinical Research Network colleagues with ICSs over the past 18 months. This includes the three parallel sessions as well as a frequently asked questions section, an acronym buster and further learning resources.

Key Tools
Best Patient Care, Clinical Research and You Trust Staff Guide:
‘Best Patient Care, Clinical Research and You’ is an online guide to help busy non research staff become more aware of their impact on research in their Trust.
The guide was developed in partnership by the CRN NHS Engagement Team, UKRD, NHS R&D Forum and NHS England.
It contains core messages for each staff group to help them understand how their role can impact on research in their Trust.
There was a significant amount of interest in the guide by the LCRNs and there are now a number of Trust R&D departments running a pilot in their local organisation.
In order to support these sites in their pilot phase, we have created a microsite with guidance on each section of the mock up site. Click below to visit the site.
