Waste Segregation Trainee Evaluation Study (WaSTE) aims to quantify waste generation from primary hip and knee arthroplasty and to implement strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of joint replacement surgery by improving waste segregation.
The HASTE Study is a multi-centre prospective service evaluation that will evaluate the epidemiology and management of hip and femoral fracture patients on oral anticoagulant medications.
Data on anticoagulated and non-anticoagulated hip and femoral fracture patients will be collected prospectively by collaborators at participating units over three months.
Data collection is now underway. If you have any issues, please contact the HASTE team or administrator@cornetresearch.co.uk
The Prosthetic Infection in the Shoulder and Elbow study is looking for collaborators across the UK to contribute to this exciting new project! All the documents and information you need can be found here. It is a retrospective study investigating what organisms cause these infections, which differ to those found in the lower limb. The aim is to better understand these infections so we can better target management. Get your trust signed up now!!

On the back of the PROFHER Study that showed that the majority of displaced surgical neck of humerus fractures did not require surgery* (see here)...
PROximal Fracture of the Humrus: Evaluation by Randomisation Trial no. 2 (PROFHER-2 Trial) is a three-arm randomised controlled trial to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of reverse shoulder arthroplasty versus hemiarthroplasty versus non-surgical care for acute three and four-part fractures of the proximal humerus in patients over 65 years of age.
Many units in the region are recruiting to this study. See if you can get involved to get the required numbers
The trial focus is brace vs surgical intervention as best treatment for fractures of the humeral shaft. It is currently recruiting in multiple sites across the region. Check if yours is, and get involved if possible.
