Rory Morrison is Past Chair of CORNET.

During his role as Chair, he was responsible for co-hosting the National Research Collaborative Meeting 2019 held in the North East, collaborating with NOSTRA (General Surgery) and INCARNET (Anaesthetics) trainee groups. He’s a previous Royal College of Surgeons Research Fellow, past BOTA Academic Representative, and has received research funding from Orthopaedic Research UK. He’s completing his PhD at Newcastle University on the role of Vitamin D on outcome following total hip and knee replacement.

Past President - Adam Farrier

I have been involved with CORNET since 2015, initially as the junior rep, then through communications lead and a short time as secretary I was elected Chair. In this time CORNET has grown to deliver increasingly complex projects effectively through collaboration with trainees in the northern region and nationally. My intention is to guide several improvements over my tenure including updating the website, supporting the launch of a PgCert in Research Methodology at York University specifically for Orthopaedic higher specialty trainees in the region and to increase national collaborative links for effective national project delivery.

I am a senior post-FRCS trainee and currently hold a Dunhill Medical trust fellowship and honorary Royal College of Surgeons one-year fellowship. I am currently pursuing a PhD at Newcastle University. My research interest is looking at the genetics of Osteoarthritis and tissue-engineering approaches to chondrogenesis under the supervision of Professor David Young, Professor David Deehan, Dr Matt German and Dr Oana Bretcanu
