Registered CRPs

As registered CRP it is important to keep on top of  your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and be prepared for the reconfirmation and revalidation processes.

Reconfirmation process

This will happen annually on the anniversary of your registration. It will involve the completion of one form to confirm that you have been completing CPD activities throughout the year.  You do not need to provide copies of certificates of CPD at this stage.  Reconfirmation will cost £30 annually.

Revalidation process

The revalidation process has not yet been confirmed but is likely to take place 3 or 4 years after your initial registration.  This process will be similar to the initial registration involving completion of an online application form and requiring sign off by your manager/a registered professional.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

When you reconfirm or revalidate your registration you will need to state that you are keeping up to date with your CPD and may be asked to provide evidence.   It would be good practice to keep your own record of your CPD throughout the year for example courses attended, webinars, etc and a brief description of what it involved so that you have this readily to hand when you reconfirm or revalidate.

NIHR Learn offers a range of resources to develop your knowledge of clinical research including Good Clinical Practice.   NIHR Learn Insights is a bimonthly CPD resource for all professions involved in health research delivery.
