Two outstanding awardees embark on a promising year of growth and excellence
After a rigorous process of review, the University of the Philippines Cwm Zena'na Scholarship Program Committee has finally selected two very deserving and outstanding candidates for the inaugural UP Cwm Zena'na Scholarship for academic year 2021-2022.
Ms. Andrea Denise Pamintuan, an incoming 4th year student and Ms. Danise Raine Dagatan, an incoming 3rd year student both successfully demonstrated to the selection panel why they deserve this scholarship.
These 2 ladies, apart from their academic commitments, are actively involved in different socio-civic initiatives. Andrea believes that it is important to communicate the relationship between geology and her faith. Danise volunteers outside the university by teaching children online and participating in fund-raising projects and donation drives for those affected by the pandemic. Both ladies consider it their mission to contribute to the development of geoscience and to be of service for the country. With grit and perseverance, both ladies always go the extra mile to serve.
Consistent with the organization’s objectives to strengthen and support national development through science, Cwm Zena'na had always believed in the potential of the Filipina geoscientist and through this scholarship, enables the realization of this potential for deserving female geoscience students.
To everyone who provided support and assistance to launch this program in March 2021, our appreciation and acknowledgment go to all of you.
We will need the continued support of everyone for the next academic year. While we are on the way to achieving our funding target, your generosity will help us get there even faster.
