The 39th Annual Geology Board Review was conducted from July to October 2024. The organization catered to about 173 reviewees through 14 online lectures, 16 face-to-face lectures, 5 in-person laboratory classes, with 3 days Mock Exam and 3 days exam discussions that totaled 41 sessions. The face-to-face classes were conducted in the Institute of Biology (IB) and National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS).
Besides the lectures and lab sessions, other activities were organized including an online webinar titled “New Beginnings: Traversing Life after the Geology Board Exams”, and three agency visits. Visits to the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), GeoInnovative Specialists Inc. (GeoSpec) were held on-site. The reviewees also got to meet the Professional Regulatory Board of Geology (PRBG) Members as our esteemed speakers, Dr. Austria, Dr. Billedo, and Atty. Peñarroyo presented the exam’s table of specifications and conducted an open forum for questions.
Out of the 173 participants in the Cwm Zena'na Board Review, 164 decided to take the Board Examinations this year. Of these, 133 reviewees successfully passed, including 9 topnotchers. Listed above are the names of all the successful candidates.
This year, we are proud to announce the National Institute of Geological Sciences' (NIGS) remarkable achievement of a 100% passing rate. All 50 graduates who took the Geology Licensure Examination (GLE) have successfully passed. Padayon, passers!
On November 22, 2024, the results of the 2024 Geology Board Examination were released, and we are proud to announce that seven of our esteemed members, namely Sis Lorrie Anne Torralba, Sis Faye Abvielle Asanza, Sis Marjorie Del Mundo, Sis Layne Gellei Buenavente, Sis Angelyn Amper, Sis Pamela Pajenado, and Sis Pauline Degala, have officially become professional geologists.
