This curriculum map is a constantly monitored and edited document by building specific administration and teachers. Week 1
Overview:
We will discuss the bell work procedures for the remainder of the semester, including; Monday Fun Day, CNN 10, Podcasts, Famous Failure, and Financial Fitness.
Standards:
Monday Fun Day: ECC-5.1 Demonstrate habits of mind (for example, taking responsible risks, thinking and communicating with clarity and precision, questioning and posing problems, thinking independently, applying past knowledge to new situations, remaining open to continuous learning).
CNN 10: ECC-2.3 Identify workplace and labor market trends (such as economic, global, technology, and social).
PCC-2.2 Analyze career trends, options and opportunities for employment and entrepreneurial endeavors for selected career clusters and pathways.
Podcasts: ECC 3.1 Demonstrate components of critical and creative thinking.
Famous Failure: ECC-5.3 Demonstrate appreciation of diversity in school, life and career settings (people who are different from one another, diverse personal beliefs and attitudes, changing roles of males and females, nontraditional occupations, stereotypes, biases, and cultural, intellectual, and environmental barriers).
Financial Fitness: ECC-4.2 Explain the impact of selected careers on lifestyle goals.

Week 2
Overview:
Students will create a volunteer event. They will organize information to create a plan to carry out 20 hours of community service throughout the remainder of the semester.

PCC-2.4 Use appropriate technology and resources to research and organize information about careers.
PCC-4.1 Demonstrate skills for questioning and posing problems, thinking independently, and communicating decisions with clarity and precision.

Week 3-6
Overview:
Students will create career portfolios. They will include a personal narrative, professional photo, resume, cover letter, letters of recommendation, extracurricular/community service activities, certifications and awards and other examples of work/skills.

PCC-1.0 Students evaluate personal characteristics to develop and refine a personal profile.
PCC-1.2 Analyze personal aptitudes, traits, interests, attitudes, and skills.
PCC-5.2 Apply decision-making processes to making a plan for postsecondary education and career.

Week 7
Overview:
Students will learn about resources to apply for scholarships. They will utilize these resources to complete scholarship applications.

Week 8
Overview:
Students will create a life road map. They will include a plan for college, career, financial, family and extracurricular goals.

Week 9
Overview:
Students will evaluate high school plans. They will learn about Core 40, college and career pathways and create a high school graduation plan.

PCC-5.0 Students create flexible plans of action for achieving personal goals through secondary education, college, career and life.
PCC-5.1 Apply knowledge of Core 40 and Honors diploma requirements to create a high school graduation plan.
PCC-5.4 Evaluate high school graduation plan, post-secondary plan and career plans in light of decisions about college and career pathways and options.
