Safety Plan

Social Distancing in classrooms will be staggered to meet the needs of the staff and students by having desks and tables in a 6 ft x 6 ft personal area. Students will have extended time during passing times to create social distancing opportunities for both staff and students. Lunch time will consist of 2 lunch periods to be able to accommodate students in the lunchroom. During Electives students will remain in personal 6 ft x 6 ft areas in order to meet the requirements.

Hallways students will be reminded to keep a social distance between them and others transitioning from class to class. We will continue to explore ways to support students during transition periods.

Classrooms arrangements will be set up to meet the 6 ft by 6 ft social distancing spaces with desks and/or tables. Classrooms will be able to accommodate around 15 students per classroom.

Whether in the classroom, hallways, or cafeteria students will be reminded of social distancing expectations through the signs and the announcements over the intercom.

Masks/shields will be required by students and staff while at school. Schools will develop different incentives and strategies to use to promote and support students following the requirements.

Arriving at school students will have to be required to wear a mask/shield upon enter and will be given one if they forget one. Students will have their temperature checked once they enter the building grounds and then report to get breakfast before going to their 1st period classroom to complete the daily screening questionnaire.

Hygiene/Sanitation around the building will also look different as students will have time to clean areas in the classrooms and a janitor will be cleaning the touch points throughout the day in order to keep touch points clean. Students will have their own Chromebook assigned to them that will be their responsibility. Other student materials that students will need will be discussed with the staff about how to keep students safe.
