Grading

Secondary students will earn a letter grade A,B,C,D,F based on their mastery of essential standards. Pass/Fail grades will be an option for certain students based on their educational plans.

Weighing Grades

  • Formative and Summative Assessments 60%

    • Assessments are not just tests. They may also include performance, projects, quizzes, demonstration, oral defense/discussion, presentations, final draft essays, reports, etc

  • Teacher Discretion 40%

    • Classwork, group work, practice, non-independent, etc


Course Expectations

During the first week of school, students receive a course syllabus describing the basic conduct, rules and grading procedures for each class from the teacher.

Explanation of Grades:

A. Outstanding, Excellent Work.

B. Very good, above average work.

C. Average Work.

D. Below Average work.

F. Minimum Requirements not met or Unacceptable work.

INC Incomplete work- Work must be completed within two weeks or grade becomes an F.


Grading Scale:

A 93-100% C- 70-72%

A- 90-92% D+ 67-69%

B+ 87-89% D 63-66%

B 83-86% D- 60-62%

B- 80-82% F 59-00%

C+ 77-79% P Passing

C 73-76%
