April 2025
Dear Tiger Families,
As we enter the final nine weeks of the school year, we remain committed to maintaining high expectations, an enriching curriculum, and engaging activities for our students. Our Leader in Me team has been working hard to plan meaningful and interactive activities for our students in grades 3-5 as they prepare for the upcoming state test. In addition, our PBIS program continues to provide fun incentives to keep students motivated, while teachers are reviewing academic progress to ensure students are on track for success.
We greatly appreciate your support in helping students prepare for these important assessments. Ensuring your child gets plenty of rest, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives at school on time can make a big difference in their performance. We are confident that our students are ready to showcase their hard work and learning, and we look forward to celebrating their success!
Beyond testing, we have many exciting events planned to close out the school year! We are thrilled to announce the return of the Elementary Art Show on May 23rd, along with our band concert, which will highlight the musical talents of our students. Additionally, our third-grade students will have the exciting opportunity to visit Camp Fitch for the day. With so much happening, consistent attendance is more important than ever. Thank you for your continued efforts in ensuring your child is at school each day, ready to learn and participate in these wonderful experiences!

Military Spirit Week
April 14th through April 17th, we join the nation in celebrating Military Appreciation Week, we extend our deepest gratitude to the brave men and women who serve in our armed forces. Their unwavering dedication, sacrifice, and courage ensure the freedoms we hold dear. From those currently serving to the veterans who have paved the way, we recognize and honor their commitment to protecting our country. We also acknowledge the resilience and strength of military families, who provide unwavering support to their loved ones while making sacrifices of their own.
To all military members and their families, we sincerely thank you for your service, sacrifice, and dedication. Your bravery and commitment do not go unnoticed, and we are forever grateful for the countless ways you defend and uphold our nation's values. As we celebrate this special week, we encourage everyone to take a moment to show appreciation—whether through a simple thank-you, a letter of gratitude, or a small act of kindness. Your service is a beacon of hope and strength, and we honor you today and always.
During Military Appreciation Week, we will be showing our support and gratitude by participating in themed dress-up days each day! Each theme is a special way to honor our military members and their families, so be sure to check the graphic on the right for the daily events. We encourage everyone to join in the fun and show their appreciation by dressing up according to the theme each day. Let’s come together as a community to celebrate and recognize the incredible dedication and sacrifice of our military heroes!
Chalk the Walk
Due to predicted inclement weather, our Chalk the Walk event has been moved indoors to the cafeteria on April 7th beginning at 4:00 pm. We invite families and community members to join us in writing encouraging messages for our students as they prepare for state testing. Instead of chalking the sidewalks, we will be creating these uplifting messages on large paper, which will be displayed in the hallways to inspire and motivate our students. Your support means so much, and we appreciate your help in fostering a positive and encouraging environment for our learners during this important time!
State Test Preparation: Helping your student at home
Parents play a crucial role in helping their children feel confident and prepared for state testing. One of the most important things they can do is establish a consistent routine that includes plenty of rest, a healthy breakfast, and a quiet place for studying. Parents can also use online resources or practice tests to familiarize their child with the test format, reducing anxiety and building confidence. Maintaining a positive attitude and reassuring their child that effort matters more than perfection can help ease any test-related stress.
In addition to academic preparation, parents can support their child’s emotional well-being during testing season. Talking about the test in a calm and encouraging way helps children feel more at ease. Teaching relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing or positive self-talk, can be helpful for managing test-day nerves. Ensuring their child gets plenty of sleep in the days leading up to the test and arrives at school on time with all necessary materials also sets them up for success. By fostering a supportive and stress-free environment, parents can help their child approach state testing with confidence and a positive mindset.
