Start with Hello Week in elementary schools is a special initiative aimed at fostering inclusiveness and compassion among students, creating a welcoming environment for everyone.
Start with Hello activities include wearing specified colors each day and engaging in meaningful actions such as saying hello to everyone you see, sitting with new friends at lunch, identifying trusted adults in the school, and partnering with others in various activities.
Please see the below chart of theme of each day as well the color of the day.
This year, we are excited to continue with our "House Challenges," featuring our three houses: Bagheera, Turtles, and Toucan.
These friendly competitions encourage teamwork, school spirit, and a sense of belonging, while pushing our students to raise the bar in everything they do. When students hear the phrase "Newton Falls Tigers are raising the bar," their enthusiastic response is, "Challenge accepted!"
We are continually encouraging our students to strive for excellence in both their academics and behavior, and we can’t wait to see how each house embraces the challenges ahead. Let’s make this year the best one yet!
Regular attendance at school is crucial to academic success. We ask that you ensure your student is here every day, ready to learn and engage.
Whenever possible, please schedule appointments outside of school hours, as every minute matters in your child’s learning journey.
If you need any support in ensuring your student is consistently attending school, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to help and want to work together to set every child up for success!
This year, we are excited to once again participate in the One School, One Book program!
To kick off this special initiative, we invite you to join us for our family events: the Kindergarten through 2nd grade event will be held on September 24th, and another for students in grades 3-5 on September 25th. Both events will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will last about an hour.
We have lots of fun planned, including crafts, food, and activities to celebrate reading as a family.
To help us prepare, we kindly ask that you send in your reservation forms by September 20th. We can’t wait to see you there for this exciting event! RSVPs will be sent home with your student.
"PAWS"ITIVE OFFICE REFERRALS
We are thrilled to celebrate the students who have been recognized for embodying our core values of being Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Learners! These outstanding students have earned a "Pawsitive" Office Referral, and we couldn’t be prouder of their commitment to making our school a better place each day.
Keep up the great work, and we look forward to seeing even more students strive for excellence and uphold these important values!
