IGCSE options evening

Thursday 24th November 2022 6pm-8pm

(for families with a child currently in Year 9)

We would like to invite you and your child to join us to hear more about the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) at Nexus. We offer this programme for our Year 10 and 11 learners as it provides robust academic and personal development opportunities for learners in preparation for the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Courses Programme and life beyond school.

We are running face-to-face sessions on campus on Thursday, 24th November, between 6pm and 8pm. You will be able to hear an overview of the programme and how to help your child make their subject selections, as well as have an opportunity to discuss the subjects with our subject specialist teachers and some learners taking the subjects.

Y11 Trial Examination 2023

The Year 11 trial exams will run between Monday 9th of January to Friday 20th of January, this is week 1 and 2 of term 3. Learners will be off the regular timetable during this period, they are not required to be on campus unless they have an exam. A study room will be available if they want to study on campus. IGCSE Examinations 2023

Please note that the IGCSE examination boards do not confirm the timetable until Term 3. It is worth noting these have run from April to the end of June and you may want to delay booking any flights until the schedule is confirmed. Nexus has no control over these dates and they can run on public holidays and into the summer holidays. We will share the schedule as soon as it is available.

Nexus holds trial examinations for Year 11 learners from 9th January to 20th January and for Year 10 learners from 10th April to 20th April. These are deliberately placed to allow maximum teaching to have occurred before the assessments to ensure realistic experiences for learners and authentic feedback on their performance. These dates also ensure that there is sufficient time for learners to work with their teachers to maximise their chances of success.

IBDP Examinations 2023

The IB have published a provisional schedule for the May 2023 examinations which run between April 27th and May 19th. Please note Nexus has no control over these dates and they can run on public holidays.
