Dear Parents and Guardians
I hope you have had a good week. This week I have had the honour of leading an international team of evaluators as part of school accreditation with the Council of International Schools. I have been working with people who are working in Indonesia, Thailand, Korea, India, Netherlands, New Zealand and Pakistan to support a large school in Vietnam as they seek accreditation. The opportunity to lead these volunteers is a real privilege. To be able to work collaboratively with other professionals on a common goal is both enriching and an opportunity. The opportunity being to reflect on teaching and learning in your own context whilst reviewing it another context. Comparison can be the thief of all joy as Ms Steph often says however sometimes it is helpful to have the affirmation that what we do works well.
School is about both learning and well-being and we are proud that Nexus learners often say they enjoy learning with us. The well qualified and dedicated Nexus teachers strive to create enjoyable learning opportunities where learners are both challenged and supported. With this in mind we support continuous professional learning for all staff so that your child may have the best experience. Many of teachers are examiners and team leaders for the International Baccalaureate and they are constantly looking for ways to be better teachers.
This term sees many opportunities for learners to demonstrate what they have learned as we build up to summative assessments and they reflect on their progress since August. Thank you to those of you joined the IBDP options evening and thank you to all of you who will be joining us next week for the IGCSE options evening. We appreciate the opportunity to work in partnership with you as we support your child through theses important transitions. Wishing you all a lovely weekend
Best wishes
