It has been fantastic for Years 7, 8 and 9 to have a focus on the Arts every afternoon this week. Music, Arts, Dance and Drama (MADD) Week returned for its third year and was notable for its ability to engage learners in the many workshops on offer. From Poetry to Dance, from 3-D Sculpture to Music, MADD week really did have it all! The sharing assembly today was wonderful with so many brilliant performances including dance, drama, drumming and improvisation. Please see a full report and photographs here.
Last week we were delighted to welcome Paralympian Andy Barrow who gave an inspiring talk to many of our learners on the subject of motivation, looking forward and seizing opportunities. Learners were in awe of Andy's achievements, despite being paralysed from the neck down when he was just 17 years old. Please see the full report here.
Our Year 10 learners are currently on their way back from Vietnam. A combined Business/Humanities trip, the learners have been exploring Ho Chi Minh's rich culture and history, and its rise as a fast developing commercial hub. Learners have visited sites of historical interest such as the Cuchi tunnels, areas of geographical significance such as the Mekong Delta, and have also had access to small and large businesses. We look forward to welcoming them home and reading a full report in the next newsletter.

The new campus construction continues apace. The team are now working on the flooring and cabinet making on most floors, and it is starting to look like a real school! The workers are even starting to add plants and trees to some floors! Here are some of the latest photos:
As we head into the long weekend, half of our Year 12 cohort are looking forward to going to Loola, Indonesia, to collect data for their upcoming IB Internal Assessment Coursework in Biology and Environmental Systems and Societies. We wish them every success with their research.
