We are starting the new year with more of an emphasis on music and movement. Moving to a beat and following rhythms. Having a lot of fun with our first story, Doing the Animal Bop. Moving and singing like lots of different animals.
Please ensure your child has a water bottle and appropriate footwear (trainers, no crocs or sandals) on PHE days.

Nursery and Kindergarten aquatic-based lessons for this phase began in the shallow learning pool. All learners participated in lots of games that involved picking up floating toys and wading across the pool. A small portion of each lesson was used to introduce the learners to the competition pool.
Years 1 and 2 Emphasis was also placed on independent swims of between 15m and 25m, as well as, developing their side breathing in front crawl and basic skills such as streamlining.
Years 3-6 In Aquatic based lessons all learners have been working on breaststroke skills such as kicking, holding body position, timing and gliding. They practised land based drills to improve their understanding of breaststroke pulling, kicking techniques and develop muscle memory. All Learners also refined their dive starts from the blocks, with emphasis on holding the streamlined position after leaving the blocks.
