'Wear It Pink' Day for Breast Cancer Awareness

A huge thank you to all families that so generously supported our 'Wear it Pink' Day.

Year 2 Mini Exhibition

The highlight of the week was the Mini Exhibition on Forces. The pod was abuzz with constant activity. The learners were very keen to invite their parents into the classrooms and even more excited to share with them all that they had learnt through their inquiries. It was lovely seeing the parents working alongside the learners through a range of procedures (written by the children) ranging from balancing a paper clown on a fingertip to building a parachute and even making a Lego car move using a balloon.

We wonder who had more fun - the parents or the learners? The learners have shown great inquiry skills throughout this unit and have been active participants in all these super hands-on activities.

Nursery Trip

Last week, our Nursery learners visited our local care home in Clementi, Orange Valley. It is the third time that Nexus Nursery learners have visited the residents and as always their smiles, singing and kindness were well received.

Our learners performed a heart-warming repertoire of songs and nursery rhymes, which many of the residents clapped and sang along to. We did some jigsaw puzzles together and drew pictures, then shared out some cake and juice. The trip was very successful and we hope to make a return visit in the coming weeks to share some Christmas cheer with our elderly friends.

Bug Busting Day!

On Wednesday, we have our head lice awareness event for this term with lots of coloured streaks and shapes seen on hair all across the school. The learners had great fun and were reminding each other to check for head lice at home. If you haven't carried out a check this week, please may we ask that you do so this weekend.
