Hello,
I’d like to take a brief moment to once again welcome all new parents and all returning families to Nexus International School and to the Nexus Parent Group (NPG). Please take a moment to read some exciting updates.
About the NPG:
One of our School’s unique pillars is what many parents and staff describe as a special community spirit.
The NPG serves two purposes within this community - to provide parents with a platform through which to start conversations with, and provide feedback, to the School – to be “a voice of the School community”, and to provide a range of great social, cultural and special interest events. We welcome all volunteers to join our vibrant and diverse committee, with the main aim of maintaining an inclusive NPG where all ideas are considered valuable.
The NPG NEEDS You:
Without the active and generous participation of our parent volunteers, the Nexus family would not be the strong, thriving, and supportive community that it is! The NPG Committee remains on the look-out for parents (all parents are automatically Members of the NPG) to assist in school life and activities. We all have differing amounts of time that we can commit to and add to the vibrancy of the School community, so whether you can donate a lot or a little of your time to the School community and the NPG Committee, we welcome you. Please drop me a line at npg@nexus.edu.sg.
Please approach any of the team in the NPG Room at any time to discuss and volunteer your assistance and please keep an eye on our re-vamped Facebook page – Nexus Parents Group.
Thursday, 23 August, NPG Morning Seminar: Digital Intelligence and Cyber-awareness
We hosted our first NPG Coffee Morning of the academic year last Thursday morning, 23 August 2018, in the NPG Room. This critical topic was heavily attended, and as our children grow, this will become an increasingly important matter. Many thanks to amazing presenters: Shaily Shah and Nina Bual from Blue Phish, for their advice geared toward practical and achievable results and for great tips.
Annual General Meeting (AGM):
We are delighted to invite all parents to our AGM on Monday, 3 September at 8:45am in the NPG Room. Anyone interested in a committee member’s role or those keen on being parent volunteers, social committee volunteers or Secondary School class reps, please come along to show your interest and cast your votes.
Best wishes,
Simon Hyett
Chair, Nexus Parent Group
We are delighted to introduce you to the Primary School NPG Class Representatives for this academic year. Every class in our primary school has parent representatives. One parent representative from each class is administering a WhatsApp group that is open to all parents of the learners in the class. The Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) does not allow us to share your personal information with the representatives. Instead, these representatives have agreed to share their mobile phone number with you, so that you can connect with them.
Full details of how to join these informal class groups were communicated via email earlier this week.
Our thanks to all the NPG Class Representatives for supporting our school community. We are sure that you will find this informal social network very valuable throughout the year ahead in Nexus Primary School.
