On Friday, 1 November we will join our Hindu community as we celebrate Deepavali, also known as the Festival of Lights.
This is a wonderful experience to be enjoyed by learners, parents and staff. Learners are encouraged to wear traditional Indian dress, alternatively they may wear their usual uniform. We will start off the day with a Dhol performance in the bus bay to greet our families as they arrive. There will be two exciting assemblies held in the morning which we encourage you to attend. For Year 3 to 6, assembly will be at 8.40am. For Nursery to Year 2, assembly will be at 9.20am. Learners will also visit the Deepavali stalls with their classes during the day (no money required).
This is one of many celebrations which remind us of the diversity within our community and we look forward to celebrating with our Nexus families.
We will be visiting Langkawi, Malaysia inTerm 3. On Friday, 22 November, the Year 6 team will be running a presentation to discuss this trip. We warmly invite you attend on this session from 8:30am to 9:20am. An opportunity to ask questions will also be available. Further details will be communicated via homeroom teachers.
