We have had a wonderful week with our Primary Sports Days happening. A BIG thank you to our dedicated PHE department that came together to make the events happen, from chicken chucking and sack races to sprints and shot putt.
It was fabulous to see the Nexus House colours being proudly worn by learners and staff alike, the sense of team spirit was palpable; unstoppable even by lightning and thunder! The year groups were spread over 3 days with age appropriate events.
Monday, 11 April - Nursery, Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2
Tuesday, 12 April - Year 3 and Year 4
Wednesday, 13 April - Year 5 and Year 6
As you are aware on Thursday, 14 April all our staff spent the day participating in professional learning.
All members of the Nexus community are learners. As educators we undertake to study the latest research and ideas in order to improve our pedagogy and therefore the outcomes for the children in our care. Professional Learning is a collaborative process where new learning directly contributes to the continued learner experience and innovation at Nexus.
Professional Learning undertaken both internally and externally supports our strategic goals and our ongoing embedding of our Nexus Way. This ensures our PL has the greatest impact possible.
During this PL Day we learnt from both internal and external facilitators on a range of areas:
