Dear Parents and Caregivers
What a wonderful start to the term we have had. Seeing our learners working alongside one another in groups of up to 10 and playing outside without their masks on has been amazing.
Thank you to all of you who joined us for the Y6 to Y7 transition talks this week, it was great to see so many of you. Don't worry if you missed it, the session was recorded and the video and the slides can be found here. As Ms Sarah our Year Leader for Year 7 shared, transition for the learners is a gradual process and we have many things in place to support the learners through this process.
This term we will continue to further our shared understanding of the IB Primary Years Framework with a focus on Literacy links, Agency & Action and our Programme of Inquiry Overview.
One of the highlights for me last week was our first primary assembly in the auditorium. Seeing all the learners together gave me goosebumps! Rest assured we are looking into the best way to get parents in for assemblies. For this first assembly we kept it simple, we heard from some learners, read I Wish You More by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, shared our wishes for one another and teacher's gave Learner Profile attribute postcards. If your child receives one of our postcards celebrating their demonstration of a Learner Profile attribute, please take the time to discuss with them what they have been doing. It's a great way to celebrate positive behaviour.
Enjoy the long weekend and time with your loved ones. If you are celebrating this weekend I hope this Easter fills your home with happiness and your life with hope and joy.
Best wishes
