Our learners came all dressed up for an early #Deepavali celebration last week! Don't they all look amazing? We hope our learners, families and staff had a great Deepavali celebration!
As always, keep a look out for our Facebook and Instagram pages to see all the things going on around the school!
Today was Bug Busting Day! In assembly, we shared the video below and had a little quiz to see what we know about head lice and nits. Did you know head lice can live for up to 6 weeks on your head before you start itching? And some people don't itch at all.
Arliana, our school nurse, also went to classes to give out our Bug Busting stickers and answer any more questions the learners had.
Please take the time to check your child's head today and treat if necessary. If we all check and treat at the some time, we will have a much greater impact.
Asia Pacific - Junior Achievement Company of the Year 2020... Winners!
You may recall back in February, Team ScrapCap took Singapore by storm, becoming the winners of '2020 Junior Achievement Company of the Year - Singapore' competition! The prize should have been an all-expenses paid trip to the Philippines to represent Singapore and Nexus in the Asia Pacific Finals.
On 8 and 9 November 2021, they attended the virtual finals as they were unable to travel to Manila due to Covid-19, but it was still a chance to win at the next level. The pressure was on as Team Revival from Nexus (last year's company) claimed this prize, making Team ScrapCap the defending champions for Nexus.
I'm delighted to share that Team ScrapCap took the top prize, impressing the judges above the other 19 National Winning teams. The finals consisted of a 4-minute video (see above), an interview and a pitch to showcase their ethical and innovative business and their overall learning journey.
Well done to the 4 presenters, Hugo Khaou, Maya Fowler, Taiga Tanaka and Xavier Muhammad and additionally, Louis Hsieh who produced the video and gave technical support. The whole team deserve recognition for their incredible efforts - they are Charlie Maclean, Marcus Little, Seb Leah, Emila Shi, Jinxi He, Duncan Ryan, Elisa Pinker Rego, Seth Klinzing and Max Ying.
I look forward to announcing details of the World finals in the coming months.
Thanks to everybody who supported them.
